Specialist national support

NPS develops and provides specialist support where national capability is required.

This includes specialist investigative support, national policing information, mutual-aid coordination standards and other support within the NPS remit. NPS support does not transfer ordinary operational command away from the competent territorial police service unless lawful authority provides otherwise.
